Story
Since 2010, government funding to children’s services has fallen by a third
Very few services exist for young carers, of the few organisations that do support young carers in the UK, Honeypot are the only service that offers consistent outreach support and respite breaks, between the ages of 5 and 12.
Since 1996 Honeypot has been working to enhance the lives of young carers and vulnerable children. Honeypot gives young carers a break from demanding and stressful responsibilities at home and provides a safe, nurturing environment where children at risk can develop their full potential.
Without Honeypot, many of these children would have nowhere else to turn. The support Honeypot provide to young carers has never been more vital.
Honeypot need to raise £1.5 Million each year to run two busy respite houses in Hampshire and Wales and provide local community outreach sessions to nurture children’s physical and mental well being as part of their developmental formative years
To help raise some vital funds for Honeypot we are attempting the Two Ball Challenge original route.
The Plan
Drive through 9 countries in 4 days in 3 old cars bought for £567 or less!
A true test of the stamina of our purchase in the heat of the summer. We plan to cover 1200 miles passing through France, Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Monte Carlo and back to France. Along the way we will pass through the Black Forest of Germany, Lake Como, Monaco and the infamous car killing Stelvio Mountain Pass. The optimistic ones among us plan to drive home too!
We're hoping the cars and teams can hold themselves together. Duck tape, tow ropes and a our own limited technical skills on-hand.
If you can, please support us and Honeypot in this challenge. Every pound donated will go towards life-changing support to thousands of young carers every year.
