Story
There are many reasons for my decision to run this years Cambridge Half to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK, the main two being two very special and loved men in my life who are fighting this condition right now. I am not a natural runner, which makes running even four miles an achievement for me! I managed 100 miles in February for children's mental health, but since then haven't been running that much, and it's been four years since my first half marathon .... I have some serious training to fit in! Please do support and encourage my stumpy legs to keep going! More importantly, please give as generously as you feel able to - our combined efforts and donations just might be the tipping point in favor of finding better treatment or even a cure for prostate cancer.
More than 47,500 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year – that's 129 men every day. Every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer – that's more than 11,500 men every year. To put this another way - my runs at the moment are roughly 45 minutes duration. Start to finish of one of my current practice runs a family has lost a loved one to this cancer.
My minimum aim is £200 for Prostate Cancer UK - to be honest, I'd love to multiply that tenfold!
Sincerely, thank you so very much for your kind support.
