All part-time gym goers, with only one of us ever running further than 10K.  We have, however, set ourselves the gruelling task of running 3 races in 3 months (Brighton Half-Marathon 21K, The Human Race Kingston 26K & The London Marathon 42K) to raise money for Greenmead School & Whizz-Kidz.

We have raised in excess of our required target of £9,600 for Whizz-Kidz www.whizz-kidz.org.uk and they have very kindly allowed us to now raise money for Greenmead www.greenmead.wandsworth.sch.uk. 

The Friends of Greenmead (FOG) is a registered charity that aims to provide the school with additional specialist equipment, resources and other educational activities that cannot be funded through the NHS or local authority.

Example - All the children have complex needs, individualized therapy programs, and need trained hands-on-help, with one-to-one often being the most effective delivery method.  There is a state funded therapy assistant but one support person is not enough to give frequent practice they need to work towards basic mobility and fine motor skills.  The school has made appeals regarding therapy provision through the proper channels and will continue to do so (although in the current climate it is not promising).  Meanwhile the children are getting older without recieving the support they need.  For your information the cost of a therapy assistant for one year is approx £17,000.
