I was diagnosed with primary breast cancer in 2018, when I
was only 36. I was healthy and active and was doing just fine in life. When the doctor gave my diagnosis, saying the words "you have cancer", I felt like being in a movie, detached from reality. That could not be true!

I think no one ever expects to hear the words “you have
cancer” from a doctor or “I have cancer” from a loved one. It is a shock to the system, it throws you off-balance, it blurs your vision, it can make you lose hope.

I consider myself one of the lucky survivors (still strange
to think of myself as a “survivor”) who beat cancer and has been in remission since the end of the treatment (lumpectomy + 4 weeks of radiotherapy).

When I learned that work was putting a team together to run
the Royal Parks Half Marathon for Maggie's, I didn't think twice and joined the team straight away.

Maggie's was one of the charities that provided fundamental
support during my dark days. Their help was invaluable and I feel blessed for having the opportunity to fundraise for them.

I am not as fit as I used to be and although I don’t hate
running, I struggle a lot when trying to do it. I also have difficulty in being consistent when coming to training schedules.

Your donation will help so much! From an emotional perspective,
will show that you care and support the cause, will help me to keep focus and don’t give up my training. From a practical perspective, it will mean more funds will be available to support those who are still battling against cancer.
