Story
**Just adding a little update, my nana passed away on the 24th of july. But i will still be taking part in this, but just in memory instead of for her. it is still for her but she’s no longer here to celebrate with us with what we were achieving in awareness for Alzheimer’s. Feel free to donate so we can smash this on in memory💜🕊️**
Dementia is the UKs biggest killer. Someone develops it every three minutes and currently there is no cure. We know it is scary but we must confront the biggest health & social care challenge of our time. We owe it to the 1 million people across the UK currently living with dementia to campaign for change, whilst providing vital day-to-day support. By taking part and raising money, or donating to someone who is, you are helping to do this.
I never fully understood what dementia meant until my nana was diagnosed. Before, it was just something I’d heard about. But seeing it affect someone I love made it real. It changed how I see time, relationships, and the importance of being present. It made me more aware of how quickly things can change, and it pushed me to value the moments I have with the people I care about. So i will be participating on a 10k walk for my amazing, brave nana on the 21st of September 2026, on worlds Alzheimer’s Day.
Once you donate, JustGiving sends your money directly to Alzheimer's Society you don't need to do anything and it's the most efficient way to fundraise. So, who will you walk for? #MemoryWalk
