Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Tallulah would like to raise money along with her amazing Aunt Laura #Team Tula for The Child Brain Injury Trust.

In April 2018 Tallulah was admitted to hospital with severe headaches. Scans revealed a Cavernoma which is a type of tumour formed from a cluster of abnormal blood vessels which was bleeding. She also had hydrocephalus, an accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain.

She was taken into surgery where the bleed and tumour were removed, however she had already suffered a brain injury from the bleed that has affected her in many ways including her balance, coordination, fine motor skills, memory and sleep behaviour

Following emergency surgery, investigations revealed that she had two further tumours deep within her brain that are not, at present, able to be treated.

Currently she remains under the care of the wonderful team in Southampton Hospital and the tumours are behaving!. Tallulah is getting used to the limitations a brain injury imposes but moving forward with a positive attitude and the support of the Child Brain Injury trust.

The Child Brain Injury trust have supported her and the family from the beginning. They have visited us at home, providing information and support. They have been to Tallulah's school to help them understand how they could get her back to education with her friends and familiar teachers. They are also scheduled to visit her upcoming high school to support them as she takes on her next adventure into high school in September.

Tallulah's amazing aunt Laura Godden is doing a year of half marathons, triathlons and swims to raise money and awareness for this amazing cause. Tallulah wanted to support her aunt in her endeavour but is limited by fatigue and coordination problems. So she is going to cycle from Brighton to Worthing, a distance of 12.2 miles with her family (Sacha, Mark and big brother William).

We appreciate all your support and hope to raise money for this fantastic charity so they can continue to provide support for Tallulah and many other children adapting to life with a brain injury.
