Make-A-Wish: make a difference!
Since becoming a teacher, I have been adament that allowing children to grow into fantastic young people is my main job! Allowing them to grow as people and develop confidence and perseverance has always been my main priority and that will never change. The message of MAW is to do the same but in tougher circumstances.
I first ran for the charity in 2014 when I did the Southampton half and it was amazing to know that I was a part of making a child's wish come true. However, I must confess the real reason the charity was chosen was because my first ever class chose it. Out of a list of 10, they were adament MAW was right and I can't blame them- they nailed it. That for me shows how powerful the MAW charity is. After watching videos of children's wishes on YouTube, I was in, hook, line and sinker.
I have to admit that running the London Marathon has been a dream of mine since I saw my mum complete the Bath half when I was 10 and I am extremely excited to be given the chance. I don't think anything can push you like running 26.2 miles and the drive to do it for such a fantastic charity is what will get me through.
Please, if you could donate anything I would be delighted. This really does mean a lot to me. A chance to make a difference to some really great children's lives.
Make-A-Wish UK grant magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions. Granting their wish provides seriously ill children with hope for the future, strength to cope and resilience to fight their condition. They’re given quality time away from the daily realities of living with their condition and given the chance to make magical memories they can treasure forever – whatever their future may hold. We want to transform the lives of 1,000 children this year by granting their One True Wish!
