Tammy's 2.6 Challenge

Save the UK's Charities! General fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income. This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support.
I had meningococcal septicaemia (now known as meningococcal sepsis) in December 2013. It left me with life changing injuries that it can be challenging to live with. At the time I was not aware of the illness or the help that was available to those affected by it. Meningitis Now are one of the few charities that cover all strains of meningitis, including sepsis.
Working with Meningitis Now I want to raise money and awareness so that other people have the support they need. I think the recent coronavirus outbreak has demonstrated how illness can turn your world upside down and affect all aspects of life. We have all seen how hard it is to get through something like that without any help. So please help by sponsoring me!
Stairs are kind of my nemesis now. I used to run up them two at a time, but since my illness they make me feel tired just looking at them. My mobility and dexterity were hugely affected by the illness, and my hands and feet hurt constantly. I use a mobility scooter to get around now. You suddenly realise that steps are everywhere when you are on wheels. Luckily I can manage stairs, I live on the first floor, but climbing them 26 times in as short a time as possible will be a big challenge. It may take me a few days to complete, but a Tam doesn't give up!
Please donate or take on your own 2.6 challenge to help our charities continue to help those who really need it.
Thank you
