Story
Parkinson’s is very close to me, my mum was diagnosed in her early 40s and has lived with the disease for 28 years. As some of you know, it is a progressive disease and leads to other problems, like limited mobility, problems with speech and swallowing. My mum now has Lewy Body Dementia, but still has her cheerful shine and sense of humour. Mum has encouraged me to do things in life and been a great role model, she was an amazing teacher for all of her working life (even my teacher in Year 4) and always helping others. Mum used to fundraise a lot for Parkinson’s, but no longer can, so I am hoping to raise as much as possible for the charity.
I have completed couch to 5k and am now stepping up my training ready for the 10 mile race in October. So please dig deep and sponsor me, this will keep me motivated to train!
