Firstly, THANK YOU FOR TAKING TIME TO READ OUR STORY.

Hi, the Netherwoods were due to go to KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa in April 2020. Our mission was to build a home for children who have lost their parents or carers, mostly through illness, and need a stable, secure, yet simple roof over their heads. We aimed to raise £2000, which buys the materials to build the home. 

Due to the Global pandemic this trip had to be put on hold. We are pleased to be able to say the tickets have now been booked and our trip is now going ahead. We are heading to KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa in July 2023 to build a house for the Shongwe Family.

We will  build the house for the chosen children.  Our own two children will be part of this trip, and yes, they will be doing the build aswell! We will meet the children we are building a home for, interact with them and Spend time in their lives and community. Everything else related to the trip we will be paying for ourselves.  If we are lucky enough to raise over this amount, the extra will help to pay for school uniforms for the children (as a child is not allowed to attend school without a uniform) and  will also help with regular food packages. 

We raised above our target due to so many generous donations during our initial fundraising, though some of this money has been to used to support many orphans during the last couple of years with food parcels.

We hope to raise a little extra money over the next couple months to ensure we can help our special family even more.
