Tanaka Musakambeva is raising money for Voluntary Service Overseas
Story
Thank you for donating to my VSO fundraising page. I will be spending 10-12 weeks in Smfaya, Zambia (as of March 2019) where I will be working in a health programme with VSO, providing awareness and prevention of HIV, AIDS and teenage pregnancy, especially in women. Around 60% of rural girls in Zambia are married before the age of 18, making them vulnerable to sexually transmitted infections, HIV and early pregnancies.
The main aim of this project is, therefore, to help reduce poverty whilst working towards International Development as a whole. VSO works through volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries and as a result, making lasting and far-reaching change in the world's poorest communities. This project is so close to my heart because I was born in a developing country and know first-hand the effects of poverty.
I have a few fundraising events planned, including a Hill walk, an open mic night and an African dinner and dance charity night. All cash donations will also be uploaded onto this page.
ALL FUNDS raised will go to VSO to fund similar projects, which benefit around 2 million people every year. By donating to my page, you are supporting all of VSO’s vital work, enabling them to continue to change the world through the power of volunteering.
