Since joining the nursing team at Chailey Heritage, a school for young people with profound learning difficulties and severe, often life threatening, complex health needs, Amy has been bowled over by what a difference Chailey Heritage makes to the lives of the young people there - it is fantastic to see children with such challenges pursuing their full potential.  Everything within everyone's power (from cleaners through to consultants) is done to ensure the quality of life for the young people is as good as is possible and the facilities continue to evolve to meet their forever increasing needs.

Chailey is a very positive and happy environment and despite some of the young people having life limiting conditions and or being unable to communicate with anything more than a blink of an eye, what overwhelms Amy on a daily basis is how happy, positive and damn right cheeky some of the characters still manage to be!

The money we raise will specifically go towards improving the medicine stock taking and ordering at Chailey Heritage to ease the transition of liaising with parents, gp's and pharmacies and ensuring all of the children's medicine needs are met. The school nursing team specifically responsible for this are looking into buying an iPad and developing a bespoke application to improve the current system so please dig deep and donate to this very worthwhile cause!!
