The Horn of Africa is on the frontline of the climate crisis. This region used to experience one severe drought every ten years. Now more than 17 million children are being hit by drought. All donations will go to our Emergency Fund.

Story

The UK have 10 officers working in Mogadishu to support the United Nation's efforts in Somalia. To help raise awareness and immediate funding for the on-going famine in the Horn of Africa the team will be cycling continuously on static bikes for 24 hours. Sweat towels, cycle shorts and tenacity are all set to help the team get through this event. Any help you can offer is hugely appreciated.

The Horn of Africa is on the frontline of the climate crisis. This region used to experience one severe drought every ten years. But now children born in 2011 or earlier are already facing their third drought. Most families in the hardest hit areas rely on farming for their income. And without rain, the things they need to get by - crops, cows and goats - are dying off, leaving children vulnerable, with many battling malnutrition and other life-threatening diseases. The impact of the current drought:- In Ethiopia, 2 million children are currently affected by the drought.- In Somalia, over 900,000 children under five will be malnourished in 2019.- In Kenya, over 750,000 children cannot get the nutritious food they need to stay healthy.Weve been here before. We know what to do. Its time for us to act again. But we need to do it fast to help children in east Africa to survive, so they can grow up and reach their potential, like every child should.
