I am off for a 1 year career break as a volunteer for VSO.
I am going to work in Central India, in Durg (Chhattisgarh), as a business advisor for Prakriti, an organization dedicated to women's empowerment through a series of activities, from micro-credit, to education. I will support Prakriti to establish itself as an independent organisation

I would like to raise funds for VSO before I go, because it costs about £17,000 a year to train and send a volunteer out to a placement. Without help in the form of donations, VSO wouldn't be able to make the enormous difference that it does (http://www.vso.org.uk )

Come sapete parto per un'altra avventura: un anno in India come volontaria per VSO. VSO e' una organizzazione internazionale che si occupa di sviluppo e che, avvalendosi di volontari, cerca di combattere poverta' e pregiudizi nel mondo. Invece di spedire cibo o denaro, VSO forma ed invia volontari.

Vivrò in uno stato dell'India centrale, chiamato Chhattisgarh. Il mio ruolo sarà quello di consulente di business per Prakriti, un'organizzazione che si dedica allo sviluppo delle donne: le attività spaziano dal micro-credito a progetti educativi, di sanita' di base etc.

Vorrei raccogliere fondi per VSO prima di partire, perche' formare e inviare un volontario costa circa 25.000 euro. Senza donazioni VSO non potrebbe fare l'enorme differenza che fa nella vita precaria e disagiata di tante persone. (http://www.vso.org.uk )
