Story
I am wearing grey for the day for my amazing partner and soon father to be, 6 months ago we found out the devastating news that he had a brain tumour after having constant headaches and a couple of 'tremor' like fits followed by a major seizure, which looking back now, we are thankful it happened, as this was what brought us to the diagnosis we have now.
After a long and hard 3-4 months of waiting to hear from John Radcliffe hospital we got the date through for his first operation to have a biopsy and to remove as much of the tumour as they could. Two weeks later we had appointment in clinic, my heart sank as we got told the devastating news that it was in fact cancer. He then went back into hospital for another operation to 'debulk' as much of the remaining tumour as possible.
After starting to recover from the two operations and being told treatment was the next hurdle we didn't expect to have to be back in hospital again for a further operation due to him falling quite poorly because of a brain infection. He had now been through 3 major brain operations in 5 weeks. He stayed in hospital for over a week before being allowed home with further medication.
We are now in recovery again and waiting on treatment.
This is undoubtedly the hardest time of our lives but the fact that we also found out the amazing news that I was pregnant at the beginning of all of this has been a blessing and has helped us and is continuing to do so through the toughest times in these last 6 months. My partner Tom is a truly amazing guy and continues to have a smile on his face everyday.
I appreciate you taking the time out to read my story and hope that we can all make a difference and help others aswell by giving a donation to raise awareness and by joining me and wearing grey on October 1st 2014. Please spread the word!
