We fund biomedical research into ME to create a strategy for cure/treatment

Story

I have multiple chronic illness but M.E. Is the most limiting and debilitating, it is deeply misunderstood by many people and also by many health care professionals. Invest in ME works hard to fund research into this illness whilst also educating health care professionals and supporting sufferers and their families.

My mobility is severely limited and I walk with smart crutches and suffer pain and fatigue whilst walking and post exertion malaise afterwards.

However, I feel passionate about raising funds and awareness about this condition to fight for recognition and support for sufferers and effective treatments to improve quality of life.

Every day of M.E. Awareness Week from 10th May through to 16th May inclusive, I shall be walking round my wee block, supported by my crutches, which is a long way for me and will take an awful lot of willpower to achieve each day.

I would hugely appreciate any support you can offer to keep me going to achieve my goal and raise funds for the fabulous charity Invest In M.E. Research.

Invest in ME Research is an independent UK charity finding, funding and facilitating a strategy of biomedical research into Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME or ME/CFS).The charity is run by volunteers - patients or parents of children with ME - with no paid staff.Overheads are kept to a minimum and all funds raised to go to promoting education of, and funding for biomedical research into, ME.Our efforts are focused on setting up a UK Centre of Excellence for ME which will provide proper examinations, diagnosis and in time treatment(s)/cure(s).

Love and Light to you all
