In a narrow side street in Aleppo, Vartouhi, a widow, ran a successful food shop. But war forced her business to close; her shop was looted and the building severely damaged.
Now with help from an Open Doors church partner, Vartouhi is back to work again. A microloan helped her purchase new equipment and make repairs, allowing her to support herself and stay in Aleppo.
Starting up her business again has not just improved Vartouhi's finances, it has helped her recover from the trauma of war.
Vartouhi says, "Working here every day makes me very happy. I love my job. I've loved working in the kitchen from my childhood. Words cannot express how thankful I am."
Your donation could help provide persecuted believers like Vartouhi with microloans, training, support and fellowship in the face of unprecedented need.
Thank you.
