The South Wales Evening Post aim to celebrate the life of one of our favourite sporting stars - Mervyn Davies and raise much needed funds for Marie Curie

Making use of social media and the selfie craze we are asking our readers to tape their ears up in the classic Merv the Swerve style and post a picture of it online.

They should then make a donation via Just Giving on www.justgiving.com/tapeyourearsformerv or text MERV88 followed by £5 or £10 to 70070.

We want everybody to take part men, women, boys and girls, babies... even pets!

On the basic level you can just wrap tape around your lugs or, if you wish, use crepe bandage first, and why not stick your welsh kit on? The funnier the better.

We are also keen to have team photos so come on clubs, groups and work places!

The campaign will run throughout the Six Nations tournament and we will be able to print readers pictures in the paper as well as post galleries online.

Let’s all team-up to celebrate the life of Merv who sadly lost his own battle with cancer in March 2012 aged 65.
