London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·
Hi everyone,
Thank you for your love and support.
I have decided to take up the challenge of running the London Marathon to celebrate the life of my Nanny, Maureen Hedger, who sadly passed away from Cancer in September 2022.
Over the last couple of years, my Nan has been extremely brave and even during the times she was suffering and in extreme pain she always remained strong. I will be forever grateful to my family, especially my Mum and Auntie Carrie, for the love, care and support they consistently provided Nanny with.
Saying goodbye to someone you love is one of the hardest things we all have to do in life. Nothing can ever fully prepare for the sadness and pain of accepting someone has passed on.
I have personally found saying goodbye extremely difficult and I know there are lots of other people who have or are experiencing similar emotions.
As a result, knowing how much my Nan fought through such tough times, I am going to use her courage and strength as inspiration and run the London Marathon to support Macmillan Cancer.
Cancer can affect your life in so many ways, and Macmillan does whatever it takes to give people the support they need.
It is going to be a challenge as I have exactly 6 months to train and fundraise. But a good friend once told me "Life is for Living" and so Nanny - this one is for you.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
Lots of love
