My name is Tara and I am a Nurse at Worcester Royal hospital. I have taken on the challenge to run the London Marathon 2024 for St Richards Hospice after starting my running journey back in February 2023. I have since used running as an outlet to destress after busy days at work to which I am finding very enjoyable and I am looking forward to this challenge. 

Within my job role I meet and support patients and their friends and family who are experiencing difficult and challenging times with a new poor prognosis or a progression of a life limiting illness. There have been times where the services St Richards hospice offer have been of great help and have given the reassurance and support patients require during this stage of their life. The services offered are designed to support patients and their network by providing care in the community with the hospice at home team, an in-patient specialist palliative care unit, spiritual care, a resource and education centre and family support services, along with many others. 

St Richards Hospice is an independent registered charity who gain a majority of its income through donations, fundraising, legacies and grants from trusts and business sponsorships. The money raised from this page will go towards aiding a persons dignity and care through the end stages of their life, something I believe we would all want for ourselves and our loved ones. It will also allow for the services mentioned above to continue supporting and guiding people through these times.
