Story
A challenge can be defined as something new and difficult which requires great effort and determination. Well I've been known to take on a challenge or two from time to time....
In March/April 2026 I will be taking on the Camino de Santiago Portuguese Coastal Route, an "adventure" I've been thinking about pre-Covid, and one (I hope) I'm prepared for. Covering a distance of 170 miles (273 kilometers), this will be my longest long-distance trek thus far, albeit this time without my trusty companion 🐕 joining to keep me motivated along the route.
Challenging? Yes.
But is it THE challenge? No.
The challenge is that only 4 days after completing this 170 mile trek I will be completing the London Landmarks Half Marathon 🏃♀️
It doesn't feel like the reality of this has quite sunk in yet but there's still time....
I have chosen to run and raise funds for the charity Shelter. There is never a more relevant time to support Shelter than right now.
Imagine not having somewhere where you can feel safe and secure. Thats what a home is, a safe place we can retreat to in our times of vulnerability.
Imagine not having a roof over your head, somewhere to keep warm through the winter. Thats what a home is. Could you survive the winter without your home?
We can all be just one bad decision, one stroke of bad luck, away from finding ourselves in less fortunate circumstances. We should never be too proud to reach out a helpful hand to others.
Please, any donation no matter the size, would be greatly appreciated by both myself and the charity. Your donations will help me keep motivated over the weeks of training ahead and my soon to be sore and blistered feet will be worth it 💕
