Story

On Wednesday 27th October 2021 following her final radiotherapy treatment for breast cancer, Amoret signed up with her daughter, sister and two nieces to hike the Thames path. She wanted to mark the occasion and raise money to say a massive thank you for the continual support and care provided by Macmillan Cancer Support. Amoret's personal journey with breast cancer began in March 2021 when she attended a routine mammogram. The results showed a shadow in her right breast and that is when her life changed. Within weeks she was facing a daily routine of hospital visits, chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy which continued for 7 months. Every day was tough, challenging, full of emotion and often tears, however, all of this was made bearable by the support of her amazingly positive daughter Rosie, her Tay Tay family, the amazing people in the NHS and Macmillan Cancer Support. Amoret feels so incredibly fortunate that her body responded well to the treatment plan so that she can look forward to enjoying this Thames walk with her Team of Tay-Tay girls by her side.
