Kia Ora everyone!

In December 2020, I took part on what was ultimately the experience of a lifetime. Going off the grid for 3 weeks on a 21 day classic course, with a group of complete strangers from all over New Zealand, was something so unique and special. In 2019 I was awarded the inaugural Ross Finlayson Award, awarded annually to a promising young leader in the community, from the North Harbour Club, who sponsored and gave me the opportunity to take part in my Outward Bound course. Thank You once again to the North Harbour Club for this amazing experience. 

My 21 day Outward Bound course was an experience which I will cherish and remember for the rest of my life. I was pushed past my limits physically and mentally every day, but these challenging and uncomfortable situations were ones which made me grow as an individual and realise that there is more in me than I realised.I hope to help share the vision of Outward Bound; "better people, better communities, better world". I have formed life long friendships and skills that I will use in future years to come. 

I am training to run a half marathon this November. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 I wasn’t able to participate in 2021 as I had originally planned, so we’re trying again this year!!! 100% of the money fundraised will help to provide a deserving student with a full paid scholarship to attend a 21-day Outward Bound course.
