Chuf's mission is to make life better for children and young people who are born with or who develop heart conditions by providing lifelong support to them and their families. Chuf supports children who receive treatment at Freeman Hospital and many other hospitals throughout the North of England.

Story

On Saturday 21st April 2012 Tyne Bridge Harriers will be holding a 50 mile relay race on the Newcastle Gateshead Quayside. Members of the running club will each complete a 1 mile lap on the "Great Way" around the Quayside.

The race will take place between 10 am and 5pm so please come along and support the runners.

Tyne Bridge Harriers would like to support the fantastic work done by the CHUF charity.  Based at the Freeman Hospital, CHUF is at the forefront of children’s cardiac care by raising money to buy equipment, facilities, aftercare, pay salaries and research for the Children’s Heart Unit and PICU. Small pieces of equipment help the nurses on the wards and larger items help doctors and surgeons undertake complex operations. Sometimes funds are used to help pay for medical and support staff, essential to the running of the unit and also for specialist resources to help children and their families.
