Tom does Ironman 70.3

Ironman 70.3 · 26 September 2021
This year I've taken on the challenge of completing an Ironman 70.3 on September 26th - that's a 70.3 mile triathlon race split into a 1.9km swim, a 90km bike ride and 21.1km run. It's the equivalent of 76 lengths of a pool, a bike ride to from Manchester to Blackpool and a half marathon to top it all off! And it has to be completed within 8 and a half hours!
I signed up for the challenge back in June this year and since then I've been training 6 days a week - swimming the murky waters of Pennington Flash, cycling the hilly routes around Bolton and dragging myself for a run along the canals in preparation for the day.
I'd love to raise some much needed funds to support my chosen charity, Breast Cancer Now. They provided so much help and support to my Wife Emma during her treatment in 2019, I'm so grateful to all of the team at Breast Cancer Now and this is one way of giving back so that they can continue their life changing care and cutting edge research.
