Liverpool to Leeds Canal ride

Liverpool to Leeds Canal ride · 11 September 2015
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We would love it if you made a donation no matter what size we are grateful for every penny.
Inspired by Tom's story we have been wanting to set a challenge to ourselves and try to raise money for and awareness of the Tom Church Foundation. So after much deliberation (and wine) the Leeds to Liverpool Canal towpath bike ride was chosen.
We will be setting off from Liverpool on Friday evening 11th September for an "easy" start from Liverpool to Burscough. Saturday the 12th Burscough to Burnley. And Sunday 13th from Burnley to Skipton finishing the last part from Skipton to Leeds on Monday 14th hopefully arriving in Leeds around lunch time. The route is 127.25 miles of towpath, sweat, mud, pubs, aching muscles and sore bums, and hopefully no swimming! No-one is yet certain if the challenge is the cycling or the avoidance of ducks/swans/dogs/fishermen/other dodgy cyclists.
Graham: has an additional challenge of listening to all the grumbling and taking the blame for any hills/puddles/mud/fishermen!
Les: has the additional challenge of passing pubs frequently without stopping off for a glass or two of wine! Although there is some whispering about the contents of her water bottle.
Rachel: has the additional challenge of, having not ridden a bike since school, avoiding turning the challenge into a Liverpool to Leeds open water swim. If you see someone cycling the towpath in armbands it is probably Rachel!!
