The 15th of November 2024 commemorates the 5th Anniversary of my lovely Nan’s passing after her battle with Alzheimer’s. While there have been great advances in medication since then, there is still a long way to go with more people being diagnosed and a lack of specialised care available in the health and social care system.

There are currently estimated to be 982,000 people living with dementia in the UK and this is projected to rise to 1.4 million in 2040. The scale and the need to prevent, diagnose and support those with dementia will only become greater.

I am running towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.

In 2019, I completed a Half Marathon Walk for the Alzheimer’s society, so I’m excited to be going the extra mile(s) and running the London Marathon on the 27th of April 2025.

Thank you for joining me on this journey – I will keep this page updated with my various runs, swims, and cycles to train for the marathon.
