Story
The Tea Leaf Trust was set-up in January 2008 to alleviate poverty and provide opportunities to the tea-picking regions of . Through establishing Community Centres that are accessible from tea estates and the surrounding farmland, the Tea Leaf Trust will deliver a raft of projects including English, I.T and Vocational Training to enable the most impoverished to find employment in trainee/ junior management roles. Alongside this programme, we will run a series of workshops to address the other social needs of the region: health awareness; women’s groups and activities for community cohesion.
We need an initial £30,000 to establish to establish our first Community Centre and obtain match funding to make the Centre sustainable.
As part of our fundraising efforts, the Tea Leaf Trust will be holding the Tea Leaf Trust Charity Winter Ball on NOVEMBER 22ND 2008.
The Ball will start with a drinks reception followed by a fabulous Sri Lankan meal with drinks. During the meal we will have Sri Lankan entertainment. There will also be a grand prize draw. The night will finish off with a live 8 piece party soul band with a fantastic play list that you KNOW will make you want to throw some shapes!
Please help us get to our £30,000 target. Maybe you could suggest it as your Christmas do. Tickets are £70 or £650 for a table of 10 (£65 pounds per person). Bring your partner, mother, grandmother! It is a great way to start of the party season. Eat, drink and shake you butt for Charity- if that hasn't sold ya, I don't know what else will!
