This year, the charity Railway Children launch their Sleep In as an alternative to last year’s hugely popular Sleepout.

Put up a tent in the garden, make a den in the lounge, bundle your bed into a treehouse, hang up a hammock on a balcony… whatever you choose, it's just about giving up the comfort of your usual bed for the night on April 9th. 

Every year thousands of children across the UK, India and East Africa run away or are forced to leave homes that have become unbearable through poverty, abuse, violence and neglect. The charity provides protection and opportunity for children with nowhere else to go and nobody to turn to.
