In countries like Ethiopia, when sight is restored, it means so much. Not just to an individual, but also to their family, the local economy and the cycle of poverty. The remedy is straightforward a pair of glasses, a 20-minute eye surgery, a dose of antibiotics to treat infection. These things alone can restore sight. That is why, this February, I am taking on the RUN 20/20 challenge, with the hope to raise funds for Orbis. It costs approximately 10 for Orbis to conduct a sight-saving surgery with the required PPE in Ethiopia.
