Story
My Name'5 Doddie Foundation has ploughed millions into MND research in the last 5 years, and we hope that a breakthrough in treatment will be just around the corner, to help the countless current and future victims of MND.
To that end, on Thursday 9th February, a group of crazy human beings have decided to ride from the Principality Stadium (Cardiff) to Murrayfield (Edinburgh) in 55 hours in order to raise more valuable funds for this incredible foundation.
This 555-mile ride will be tackled by Team Babble, made up of the following riders and support crew:
- Matthew Parker (Team Cyclist, CEO of Babble, 33 years of playing rugby in Scotland at Hillhead Jordanhill & Lenzie and in the South with Ironsides & Farnham and 12 years coaching at Chobham Rugby Club)
- Paul Volley (Team Cyclist, ex-professional rugby player winning the Champions cup and three Premiership titles with Wasps)
- Rob Duffin (Team Cyclist, riding for his wife Jo-Ann Duffin who died from MND in 2017)
- Tom Leefe (Team Cyclist, co-founder of JT3 Group, Brain tumour survivor and one of the original 4 Doddie 500 / Wounded Lions riders. Played rugby for Dorking Rugby Club and coached at Farnham Junior Rugby Club)

Everyone involved has either known of or played with or against Doddie Weir back in the day, and will all be taking part in this challenge to support him and his fight against Motor Neurone Disease.
They will be supported by Ben Glenister and Martin Glenister (Benchmark Bicycles Repairs in Farnham) who will look after the rider's bikes and nutrition and ensure their safety whilst out on the road.
The challenge is 555 miles in 55 hours, yes you read that correctly……. all in the name My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, and we are looking for your support.
All monies will go directly to the charity, and into research to find effective treatments for this dreadful disease - Motoneuron disease.
The cyclists will be covering all the costs of their own ride and support vehicles so please click on the link and chose the relevant team member. Make sure you include your name so we can get back to you and please give as much or as little as you can. Wish us luck………
