Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge 2022 · 14 May 2022 to 15 May 2022 ·
On the 14th and 15th May - come rain wind or shine - a team from Barratt David Wilson Southern Counties will be setting off to undertake the Jurassic Coast 100km challenge – from Corfe Castle to Bridport along miles and miles of undulating costal paths.
Day 1 is set to be a very tough day - 58km (36 miles) from
Corfe Castle to Weymouth
Day 2 is 42km (26 miles) to the finish line in Bridport.
Still no easy feat, with little to no recovery time from the 58km walked the day before!
It goes without saying that now more than ever charities need our support and you may already be aware that BDW Southern Counties chose The Halow Project as our charity to support this year.
The Southern Counties team is made up of Julian, Will, David, Ben, James, Kim, Laura, Sarah, Carina, Matt and Alannah (who is making a return for one weekend only to the Southern Counties team).
Having all taken part in various charity walks over the past few years trust us when we say that genuinely every donation will make the inevitable blisters and hours and hours of what will quickly become forced polite ‘chit chat’ worth it!!
Also I’m not sure if anyone’s aware how quickly Will walks... so spare a thought as for some of us this challenge will be more like a 62 mile jog!
It's important to us to raise as much money for this cause as possible - we have therefore each self funded this event.

For 2022, the Southern Counties business will be supporting the Halow Project, which is a growing community based charity based in Guildford. Halow aims to nurture young people with learning difficulties to fulfil their potential through exceptional person-centred care.
The charity supports young people aged 16 plus, who have learning disabilities, on their journey into and through adult life. The activities that they arrange give these young people the chance to get involved and enjoy an active social life, with the aim being that every person with a learning disability has the same life choices and chances as any other person.
Halow run a series of initiatives such as Building Futures, Social activities, A Reason to Get Up and the Halow buddy service.
Halow have indicated that any funds that we raise will go along way to helping them develop and launch an expansion of Building Futures into Woking and expanding their “A Reason to Get Up” programme. They are also looking to offer further supported living accommodation in Guildford, with three young people who have been with Halow on their journey to greater independence, awaiting assistance with care packages – the charity have not been able to open a new house in this way for 5 years.
Your donations will directly help them to continue
developing such programmes.
