Story

We are taking part in the Great North Run, the world's biggest half marathon. More than 57,000 runners will take to the streets of Newcastle in this iconic event.

As a couple who love to explore the great outdoors it’s reassuring to know that help would be available if needed, even in the most difficult to reach locations.

The Great North Air Ambulances (& indeed all the air ambulances throughout the country)  are a vital life saving service who really shouldn’t be a charity!

Neither of us are runners (but especially not Sam!) so this will definitely be a challenge for us! We’d better start training 😬
