Campaign by Cardiac Risk in the Young (RCN 1050845)
The British Society of Echocardiography will be holding their conference virtually for the second time in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. #BSEMiles is their way of coming together as a community to support Cardiac Risk in the Young.

Story

#BSEMiles is our way of coming together as a community again.

In 2020, 50 BSE members took on the challenge on social media, some with families and friends, to run, walk and ride over 2500 miles – that’s more than 96 marathons! At BSEcho 2021 we want to build on that, so we are going to walk, run, cycle or swim as many miles as we can to see how far we can go together throughout the conference!

For instance, to get from BSE headquarters to EACVI headquarters is 853 miles. 1018 miles will take us to Dr Israel Valverde in Seville. If we can accumulate 1487 miles, we can reach Dr Kalliopi Keramida in Athens and 3550 miles would see us in Toronto with Dr Paaladinesh Thavendiranathan!

Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions. See how your support can help by visiting www.c-r-y.org.uk

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.
