Team DB, a community team from Barclaycard, will be putting a boat forward in the annual Northampton Dragon Boat Race on Sunday 15th July 2012. We will be getting in the spirit of the day and will be getting dressed up as pirates, "Arrrrrrr!!!"

The crew, "Captain Bauer and his Barclaycard Buccaneers" is made up of colleagues from across GCP including Dennis Bauer, Mark Lambeth, Rob Tuckwell, Johnathan Sjiem-Fat, Faisal Jafri, Helen Campbell, Moshe Winegarten, Alasdair Milne, Bonnie Kzzinsky, Chris Adams, James Lee and Stacey French. 

The event is raising money for Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA), an organisation that provides Helicopter Emergency Medical Services to the counties of Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes.

The WNAA's main purpose is to prevent loss of life and to aid recovery to those in need across their entire operating area.They respond to a wide range of calls including road collisions and agricultural accidents. Wherever they need to go, they will go.

The WNAA receives no government nor National Lottery funding and so relies totally on donations, sponsorship and fundraising events to keep them flying, and to keep them saving lives.

This is where we come in with the Dragon Boat Race. We'll be participating in the races, in pirate fancy dress and want to raise as much money as possible. I'm sure you'll agree, its a worthy cause - and you never know when you, or something you may know will need their service. So please dig deep, and give us your pieces of eight!!
