Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit Team Dynamic's JustGiving page.

Team Dynamic are climbing Ben Nevis on 26 July in memory of Greg Stevens, a remarkable young man, who tragically took his own life at age 22.  We are raising awareness of the devastating effects of depression which can leave sufferers feeling a variety of emotions including hopelessness, despair, anxiety, exhausted, sad and alone.

Team Dynamic include those who have lost a loved one, suffered depression or have family or friends who have suffered from this illness.  We have also been inspired by Kirsty Brown a team Dynamic member whose idea it was to climb Ben Nevis and whose bravery and courage is inspirational to all her friends and colleages.

What follows is a poem by the mother of Greg Stevens.

Where are you when the dawn is breaking

Where do you go when it gets light

What do you do when the stars are shining

Are you around last thing at night?

Where are you when the wind is blowing

Where are you when it is still

What do you do when the show is falling

Are you around when there’s an icy chill?

I was blessed, you were a blessing

The gift of life, the best of all

I was always there behind you

I was there to catch you fall

You were a gift and you were gifted

So very special, a different kind

So much talent, so much wisdom

You had such a clever mind

You gave me hope and inspiration

I watched you thrive and grow with pride

Encouraged you along the way

Until it was time to stand aside

In your world everything was perfect

Half measures were not your scene

You worked so hard, gave it your all

There was nothing in between

Your hopes and dreams became a burden

Far too much for you to face

Life became so overwhelming

A heavy load for you to embrace

You didn’t take decisions lightly

You wouldn’t give up without a fight

You wouldn’t have left the ones who loved you

You would have fought with all your might

Autumn was my favourite season

With low suns and golden leaves

Now it can only bring me sadness

Seeing the colours changing on the trees

September is the month of your beginning

It is the month you chose to leave

Can I see it as a blessing

When all I want to do is grieve?

So where are you when my heart is breaking

Are you around or out of sight

What do you do when my tears are falling

Are you close by to see my fight?

Was it fate or your decision

Why you had to leave so many scars

We only had you for a short time

Was it written in the stars?

Are you drawing your horizons

Or portraits we’d all love to see

Or playing piano like Ludovico

Nuvole Blanche or l giorni?

Where are you my Jack Sparrow

Are you sailing on high seas

Or playing games on your PC

Your favourite Final Fantasy

Where are you now?
