Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 25th June 2015, my best friend, George Henderson, passed away at the age of 24 after a long battle with Crohn's Disease.

On the 8th May Team George are taking part in a 5k Color Obstacle Run in Windsor, London in aid of Bowel Disease Uk.

Bowel Disease UK specialises in research for Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis and Bowel Cancer.

Currently there is no cure for Crohn's. Present treatments are aimed at trying to relieve the symptoms, prolong remission, prevent relapse and stop the inflammatory process to avoid surgery.

George had a long battle against the disease and had previously won the fight against difficult relapses, which made George more determined to fight.

Sadly George started to relapse just after Christmas 2014, and in March was taken to St Anthony's Hospital for an emergency operation. And after a long 13 week battle, George died peacefully in his Mum's arms.

❤️💙 We will never forget you George ❤️💙

Doing the 5k for Bowel Disease UK will help us keep George's memory alive and give us the opportunity to spread the word about Crohn's, ulcerative Colitis and Bowel cancer and fight for others to win their battle against the disease.
