The Carrots NightWalk - See London in the Dark · 21 September 2012 ·

Imagine being told that you, or someone you love, is losing their sight. In that moment, two profound questions demand urgent answers: Can this be stopped? How will I live my life? We fund the brilliant minds and bright ideas, putting change in sight for everyone impacted by vision loss.

Story

On Friday 21 September, we will be joining over 400 walkers taking part in the Carrots NightWalk, a 6 mile walk through the streets of London.

Why are we doing this?  We are raising funds for Fight for Sight. In 2011 Fight for Sight celebrated the launch of the Carrots NightWalk and raised over £58,000 to bring us close to preventing and treating eye disease and ultimately restoring sight.

Fight for Sight is funding research at leading universities and hospitals throughout the UK saving the sight of thousands of premature babies through understanding and controlling levels of oxygen delivery; restoring sight by establishing the UK Corneal Transplant Service enabling over 52,000 corneal transplants to take place; bringing hope to children with inherited eye disease by helping to fund the team responsible for the world’s first gene therapy clinical trial. Fight for Sight’s current research programme is focusing on preventing and treating age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, cataract and retinal detachment. Fight for Sight is also funding research into the causes of childhood blindness and a large number of rare eye diseases.

By sponsoring us you can bring us all closer to preventing and treating eye disease and radically improve the lives of so many people affected by sight loss.

Any amount you can spare in support of this worthy cause will be appreciated.

Thank you.
