Story
Thanks for visiting our JustGiving page in aid of our local charity, Grimsby Baby Care.
We each have a story but our collective desire has brought about this group cycle for a cherished cause. Julie Hamill, Emma Lancaster, Bemigho Etuwewe, Peter Louth, Arun Nayyar, Jo and John Watkinson, Von Zingraf, Barbara Eger, (nurses, doctors and advanced nurse practitioners) from the neonatal unit and paediatric team in Grimsby with 6 other close friends and relatives seeking a challenge have come together to raise money for charity.
Grimsby Baby Care is a local charity dedicated to the work of our local neonatal unit. This year we are seeking their support to buy additional specialist equipments for monitoring and treating jaundice. We also hope to get monitors for use in the community.
Jaundice in the newborn period is potentially dangerous if not detected or treated early; these equipments helps prevent unnecessary blood tests and hospital admission but crucially identify babies at risk much earlier.
We set off from Grimsby Fish Dock at 08:30 on 22/05/2015 and arrive Liverpool Albert Dock some 179 miles later at 4pm on 24/05/2015.
All donations through JustGiving is totally secure and goes directly to Grimsby Baby Care charity. You can also send donations to Grimsby Baby Care by contacting the neonatal unit on 01472 874 111 ext 7185 or 7885.
Your donation can really help us smash our team goal.
