We are a team of 10 people from across Lewisham Council who are running the London Marathon to raise vital funds for the 999 Club. Most of us running a marathon for the first time.

The 999 Club are a small, local homelessness charity based in Deptford who do incredible work supporting homeless people. We believe no one in our community should have to face homelessness. People who have nowhere to live can go to the Gateway Centre, have a shower, do their laundry and get something to eat. They can also access healthcare from visiting nurses, mental health workers and other healthcare professionals. They offer a comprehensive service including advice and support, a bed for the night and employability programmes.
