Story
Peter, Tom, Scott, Caroline, Beth and David have all signed up to the Great North Run to support The Rebecca Dykes Foundation.
Beth's cousin Rebecca (Becky) Dykes was killed in Lebanon on December 16, 2017 while she was working for the Department of International Development.
The Foundation has been set up in Becky's memory and operates as a restricted fund of Princes Exchange Foundation.
Becky loved her work and was committed to making the world a kinder, fairer, safer and more stable place. The aim of the Foundation is to continue Becky's humanitarian and stabilisation work for refugees and other vulnerable communities, with a particular focus on women's empowerment and preventing violence against women.
By June 2018, the Foundation has received over £95,000 in donations and has agreed to fund their first project run by a local women's NGO in Lebanon later this year.
We are hoping to raise £500 each by running 13.1 miles in the Great North Run in September. The team has (very) varying levels of experience when it comes to running but the training has already started and we promise to do the best we can! Anything you can give to support would be very much appreciated.
