Team Smylies are walking, running and cycling 2,424 miles throughout the month of July. 

WHO? Our small team of "athletes" comprises of approximately 35 employees.

WHY? Our friend and colleague, Kasia, sadly passed away from Cancer at the start of this year aged only 34. Her home town was Rumia in Poland which is 1,212 miles away from our head office. So we are virtually covering this return distance in memory of our friend.

CHARITIES: We are raising money for our two chosen charities this year:

The Martin Gallier Project – supporting suicide intervention, prevention, and postvention and mental health and;

Clatterbridge Cancer Charity – supporting patients with cancer. They gave wonderful support to Kasia as well as other close family and friends over the last few years.

Whilst this page is dedicated to raising money directly for The Martin Gallier Project, we will be matching any donations raised for them and will be passing this to the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.

ABOUT OUR CHOSEN CHARITIES: The Martin Gallier Project is the only suicide intervention, prevention and postvention service in the North West of England. Their Suicide Intervention Workers provide crisis support through immediate suicide interventions on the high street with no barriers to access or waiting lists, thus reducing the need for clinical interventions and hospital admissions.

The Martin Gallier Project are extremely committed to breaking down the stigma surrounding suicide and mental health. The team spend a large amount of their time raising awareness and opening up the conversation around suicide.

The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is the only dedicated charity for patients and research at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.

It's thanks to your support that we can help make their hospitals such a special place, helping their patients, both young and old, get the best possible care whilst funding vital life-saving research.
