The Brain Tumour Charity is the world’s leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, we’re moving further and faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour. A cure really can’t wait

Story

In Edinburgh on 15 September at the Edinburgh Kilt Walk & in London on 28 September at the Marathon Walk, Underbelly are walking to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity in the name of seven-year-old Alfie Bartlam, son of Underbelly Director Ed and his wife Lucinda.

Alfie, a superhero throughout, had been fighting an aggressive form of Brain Cancer since September 2016. Devastatingly, Alfie lost his battle at the end of August.

The Brain Tumour Charity provides much needed pastoral care and support to those who receive a brain tumour diagnosis and their families; they work tirelessly to direct a spotlight on the symptoms of brain tumours; and they invest in pioneering research into the causes of brain tumours and to find cures. The stark reality is that Brain Tumours are the single biggest killer of children and those aged under 40.  We can change this by investing more in awareness and research and this is what the Brain Tumour Charity does.

Taking on the Kilt Walk in Edinburgh will be Ruth Fisher, who is Underbelly's Christmas Producer; our Production Manager, Kenny Easson & his wife, Diane; Roddy Fisher, Underbelly's Edinburgh Bar Manager and Philly Waygood, who is our Senior Box Office Manager.

Making up the team who’ll be conquering the Walking Marathon in London will be Lauren Manning, Ed and his co-director Charlie’s PA; Lauren Eisinger and Aisling Galligan who are part of Underbelly’s Programming team; Dave Watson & Rebecca Foster, Underbelly's Head of Production & Production Co-ordinator; and we’re also delighted that Katie Mosses of the Brain Tumour Charity will join us as an honorary member of the Underbelly Herd.

The size of the donation doesn’t matter at all but we would be extremely grateful if you could take the time to donate anything you can.

Thank you!
