The Club Triumph Round Britain Run 2018
What is it? It is a rally for Triumph built or derived cars starting from Knebworth in Hertfordshire, travelling up to John O’Groats in the far north of Scotland, then down to Lands End at the far south of England and back to Knebworth – all in 48 hours. This means around 2,000 gruelling miles in 48 hours at an average speed of circa 40 mph, so certainly no time for overnight stops! Tough enough in a modern car but to raise the bar even higher, we’re doing it all in a nigh on 40 year old Triumph Dolomite.
Held every two years, with even the youngest vehicle taking part now being 35 years old, the Round Britain Run passed its 25th anniversary in 2016 and has become one of the legendary classic car touring events on the UK calendar having won a number of awards for both the quality of its organisation and for its achievements in fundraising, with over £600,000 raised for various charities since 1990. No mean achievement for a small classic car club, I’m sure you’ll agree.
Who is Team 104?
One of around 140 crews, the optimists forming Team 104 are Jeff Goodwin and Fraser Hale who, having known each other for a period longer than the age of the Dolomite, thought it would be a good opportunity to catch up on each other’s mp3 music collections!
When is it? Starting at 7pm on Friday 5h October, all being well, our aim is to finish at approx. 7pm on Sunday 7th.
