Story
2022. Our girl Amara would be 3 years old right now, probably driving us mad with the millionth Peppa pig episode as she filled her face with more popcorn and crisps. But sadly, it’s also been 3 years since we lost her and not a day goes by that we don’t think of her and wonder what life would be like with her in our home. Sadly, we will never know….
But for other little children like her, we do know. We know that with the increased costs of living and the pandemic, more and more families are struggling. Especially with the lead up to Xmas, many little boys and girls will not have a visit from Santa as their parents struggle with making a choice between either putting food on the table or heating their sparse accommodation.
So this year, in memory of Amara, we ask for your help to make Christmas special. My older 7 year old daughter Ariana and 25 amazing young girls are once again coming together to run as TEAM AMARA at the Ealing Mini-Mile on Saturday 24th September.
We are hoping to raise as much money as possible for the Salvation Army’s Ealing Baby Bank to be Santa.
Your money will buy presents for local children who would otherwise get nothing, help fund a small Christmas party for them, hampers for the families in difficulty, days out and professional photos to capture treasured memories of a childhood, a childhood which is often gone too soon.
We can’t buy Amara a Christmas present this year but with your help, we hope that Amara’s light can shine on in the happy little faces of all the boys and girls that we can help together.
Amara, this is for you. Happy 4th birthday my darling. You will always be part of us, our family and our home.
