Story
When I first started this journey, it was just about me and my Dad. Watching him slowly fade from our lives while suffering with Alzheimer's was one of the most painful things I have witnessed, and I am determined to stop other families from suffering the same ordeal in the future. It's ALL about research! And if you've followed my running journey through the last four years, you'll also know that my passion for raising awareness for Alzheimer's Research UK has led to me I to my current job. I now work in an Oxford University laboratory which specialises in dementia research, and is funded by Alzheimer's Research UK, so I can see first-hand and share stories of where your donation money goes.
Every single penny matters.
Another huge benefit to my association with ARUK has been meeting making some wonderful friends through the charity, one of whom is Sue Strachan, (aka Strawny) and I am so proud to call this inspirational woman my friend. Next year, under the banner of 'Sue's Crew' I will be part of a team of runners who . we will be taking on the 2024 TCS London Marathon. We have all been devastated in some way by the affects of dementia and are united in our mission to help Alzheimer’s Research UK’s find a cure and end the heartbreak of this cruel disease.
Please have a look at the other team members' stories and donate what you can. and together we fight to make a difference.
