Story
Our beautiful niece Skye was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in May 2012, shortly after her fourth birthday.
She was referred to Alder Hey children's hospital in Liverpool, where she commenced her treatment programme, and which became a home away from home for her over the months that followed.
Skye fought her illness, often with humour and amazing courage that belied her young age. She inspired us all in her resilience and defied the fears of her doctors time and again.
Sadly, Skye lost her battle on August 31 2013, aged just five years old.
The team at Alder Hey didn't just provide all of the care and treatment she required, but also offered endless support and advice for the rest of the family.
Skye's story touched the hearts and minds of so many of our friends - some who never had the honour of meeting the cheeky, charismatic, lovely, blue eyed little girl that she was.
So when we suggested entering Tough Mudder in aid of raising funds for Alder Hey's Children's Charity, we had numerous offers from friends volunteering to sign up with us - and so Team Awesome was formed!!
On Saturday 13th September this year we will brave the elements and a ten mile course filled with mud, ice, fire and even electric shocks to raise money for Alder Hey so that others like Skye will continue to benefit from the amazing care they provide.
Thank you for your donation and for your support - in memory of Skye, our beautiful butterfly xxxx
