SimplyHealth Great Birmingham 10k Run

Two years ago, Anupurba Saha received her first prosthetic blade from West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre. Since she was featured in the media, her irrepressible spirit (and irresistible grin) have won hearts and turned her into something of a ‘poster girl’ for BCHC Charity, which supports the work of the West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre (and much else besides).
We were thrilled when the organisers of the SimplyHealth Great Birmingham 10k invited Anu to be the official starter, alongside none other than the Lord Mayor of Birmingham.
Anu and her family will be supporting Team BCHC as we tackle the 10k course to raise extra funds to make a real difference to patients’ experience of care. BCHC Charity has already funded an amazing therapeutic playground at the centre for children with lower limb prostheses to improve confidence and mobility through play, and can work with rehab physios on a range of surfaces and in various real life scenarios (e.g. a pelican crossing and play equipment). We want to continue to make a difference to the paediatric services at the centre by raising funds to replenish stocks of toys, purchase adapted toys and games for children with prosthetics, refurbish and redecorate rooms to make them more comfortable and inviting, and much more!
BCHC Charity is the official charity supporting Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS FT. Funding equipment, research and facilities not part of core NHS services. Your support helps us provide the 'extras' that bring a smile to patients who access our services and enhance their experience at the WMRC.
