Story
Heart and Circulatory Disease is responsible for the death of almost 40% of the population; it is the UK’s biggest killer and doesn’t discriminate, no matter how old or young you are it affects us all.
In the hope of trying to raise some money for the British Heart Foundation I have managed to persuade Rob Peasgood and Billo Froud to join me in forming a relay team, called the Bounders, to compete (running not riding!) in the Man V Horse marathon on 13th June this year.
The race starts in the Llanwrtyd Wells Town Square and is run over a 22 mile course (we will each run one of 3 almost equal stages) using a mixture of farm tracks, footpaths, forestry roads and open moorland. There are a few short distances over tarmac. It is very hilly with a total ascent of 3000ft.
The British Heart Foundation is the UK’s leading heart charity and every day they save lives, through pioneering research, providing vital information to help people reduce their own heart health risks, campaigning for change and supporting and caring for heart patients.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us. The British Heart Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thank you for visiting this page, please forward the link on to all of your friends and families…. we are going to need all the help we can get in achieving the fund raising target!
It took 25 years for the first man to beat a horse…! I think in our case we will just be happy to finish! More details on the Man V Horse marathon can be found at http://www.green-events.co.uk/eventinfo.php?eventdetails=49
