Story
On 10th April 2022, our beloved brother/brother-in-law, Hugh Freeland, died at the age of 45 after a two-year battle with a rare osteosarcoma in his hip, leaving a devastating hole in the lives of his wife, Rosie, and two young sons, Rory (5) and Rafferty (1), as well as the rest of his family and many friends.
In his memory, on 10th and 11th September 2022, we - Mandy Wright, Simon Wright, David Gough and Esther Obiri-Darko - together with Max Wright, are taking on the 100km Thames Path Challenge and walking from Fulham to Henley on Thames. None of us have ever attempted anything like this before but want to raise as much money and awareness as we can for the vital research the Bone Cancer Research Trust funds to ensure that others in the future don't have to go through what Hughie had to. So please donate as generously as possible to spur us on! Your support is much appreciated.
The Bone Cancer Research Trust is dedicated to saving lives & improving outcomes for people affected by primary bone cancer. Despite being small, they fund more research projects exploring primary bone cancer than any other organisation. Other large UK cancer research charities do not prioritise bone cancer patients, in 2019 just 0.028% of their research spend went to bone cancer – not even close to 1%! Last year alone, Bone Cancer Research Trust committed an incredible £807,824 to pioneering bone cancer research - to save lives!
